Me: didn't say anything about holding an all-night bikini rave, did it?
Hank: No, No rules against wild parties and Bikini raves
Me: good, good
Hank: although, I think after we host one, there will be NEW RULES
Hank: so it has to be a BIG one

SinisterBill: So Science Fiction to you is Pew Pew look at the pretty lasers?
Grand_Marquis: For all it's sciency mumbo jumbo, Star Trek is still just more Pew Pew look at the pretty lasers-style Sci Fi.
SinisterBill: Awww, did I hurt your widdle fewlings? Yes, Star Trek was all about Pew Pew fanboy. Now, go read some Heinlein and Asimov, then come back and tell me the 80's and 90's weren't a wasteland.
boobert: Actually, I think DS9 is excellent 90's Science Fiction. I think it had more to offer than just "Pew Pew."
Evil Tortie's Mom: And Babylon 5, which had Pew Pew, but wasn't about Pew Pew.
Davio: Indeed. Then again, all this anti pew pew is rather disheartening. I would say that pew pew is in many ways integral to science fiction. Let us not dismiss this bright and colorful pillar of violence in the genre.
SinisterBill: The Road Warrior, Buckaroo Banzai, Last Starfighter, Aliens, Terminator (eh, I could be convinced on this one), etc. I loved all of them, but these are straight up science fantasy. They are all about the Pew Pew!
