Me: No, what do you use to get on the internet?

Client: Oh! Google. 

Me: Do you have the internet up right now?

Client: Yes!

Me: On your internet page in the upper left hand corner, is there an “e” with a swoosh around it?

Client: Yup! That’s Google.

Ugh. Call me cynical, but it’s 2012 and I’ve reached the point where I’m not interested in helping people who can’t be bothered to know the names and functions of basic everyday things.

I mean, I’m not an expert in kitchen technology, but if I ask a chef friend for some cooking advice, I at least know the difference between the oven, the range, a frying pan, and a goddamn chicken. We don’t need to have a remedial vocabulary lesson each time.
